AMES, Iowa – The public is invited to attend an education and input meeting for the Ada Hayden Heritage Park Trail Improvement Project at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, at City Hall Council Chambers, 515 Clark Avenue.

The Ames Parks and Recreation department is in the planning stages of replacing the 10-foot-wide asphalt trail with a 12-foot-wide concrete path.

“The goals of the meeting are to inform the public of the project status, potential timeline, trail replacement phases, and our goals of minimizing impact to the park,” said Keith Abraham, Parks and Recreation Director. “We welcome feedback from the public as we move forward with this project.”

Those who have feedback but are unable to attend the public meeting should contact Joshua Thompson, Parks and Facilities Superintendent, joshua.thompson@cityofames.org, 515.239.5364.

The Ames Parks and Recreation Department manages 40 parks and offers approximately 200 athletic, aquatic, instructional and wellness programs. For more information, go to the Parks and Recreation homepage at www.amesparkrec.org or call the Community Center at 515.239.5350.
