Ames City Auditorium is a beautifully preserved, historic auditorium located conveniently in the heart of Downtown Ames. Originally built in the 1930s as part of Ames High School, the auditorium was refurbished, renovated, and reopened in 1991 as part of the transformation into the new Ames City Hall.

For more than 30 years, the Ames City Auditorium has hosted presidential candidates, dance troupes, recitals, live musicians, concerts, lectures, and more. Professionally staffed, the facility accommodates seating for 881 people.
